Boyd calls the 2018 season “the year of women’s stories.” The Royal Family of Broadway (June 7–July 7) a new musical comedy based on George S. Kaufman and Edna Ferber’s The Royal Family, depicts the lives of three generations of women. In A Doll’s House, Part 2, (July 12–28) Henrik Ibsen’s Nora returns to the home which she famously departed. The Chinese Lady (July 19–August 11) tells the story of the first female Chinese immigrant to enter the U.S., and Well-Intentioned White People examines what it’s like to be an African-American woman who is constantly called upon to be the face of her race (August 16–September 8).

Completing the season will be Mark St. Germain’s play Typhoid Mary (May 23–June 16), Bekah Brunstetter’s play The Cake (June 24–July 14), and Boyd’s previously announced production of West Side Story (August 3–September 1).

Casting for all productions will be announced at a later date. For more information on the upcoming season visit BarringtonStageCo.org.
