The New York premiere of Smart Blonde has sets its full cast. The musical, exploring the life of Judy Holliday, will begin performances at Off-Broadway's 59E59 Theaters March 16.

Andréa Burns (In the Heights, On Your Feet!) will portray the famous 1950s performer, who often played dumb to match the stereotype attached to her platinum locks. Much quicker than people gave her credit for, Holliday ended up winning an Oscar as Billie in Born Yesterday—a role she created on Broadway—and later wining a Tony Award for Bells Are Ringing, another role she recreated for the film adaptation.

Joining Burns in the Willy Holtzman-penned production will be Andrea Bianchi (Curvy Widow), Mark Lotito (Jersey Boys), and Jonathan Spivey (Summer and Smoke). Peter Flynn directs.

The design team includes Tony Ferrieri (scenic design), Alan Edwards (lighting design), Michael McDonald (costume design), and Joanna Lynne Staub (sound design). The production stage manager is Stephanie Clark.

Tickets are available at 59E59.org.

Burns has been special guest performers on Playbill's Broadway on the High Seas cruises. Cabins are now on sale for Playbill’s Broadway in the Great Northwest.
