The Bard SummerScape production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma!, directed by New York-based director Daniel Fish, is set to play a limited Off-Broadway engagement at St. Ann’s Warehouse beginning in September. Fish’s acclaimed production returns to the stage for the first time since playing to sold-out audiences at the Richard B. Fisher Center for the Performing Arts at Bard College in 2015.

The Off-Broadway run is presented by producer Eva Price and St. Ann’s Warehouse. Performances will begin September 27 in the Brooklyn theatre, with tickets going on sale March 31—the 75th anniversary of the celebrated musical’s Broadway premiere.

“One of many the things I find compelling about Oklahoma! is that it explores the relationship between individual and community: what people gain and what they sacrifice when they choose to come together—and the role the outsider plays in that choice,” says director Fish in a statement. “I’m thrilled to continue the work my collaborators and I began at Bard, and to make the production for St. Ann’s Warehouse.”

Fish’s other directing credits include Acquanetta, Don’t Look Back (The Chocolate Factory), Who Left This Fork Here (Baryshnikov Arts Center, Onassis Center), Ted Hearne’s The Source (BAM Next Wave, L.A Opera, San Francisco Opera), and Eternal.

Oklahoma! Will kick off St. Ann’s 2018–2019 season.
