Roundabout Theatre Company's 2019 Broadway revival of Kiss Me, Kate, starring previously announced Tony Award winner Kelli O’Hara (The King and I) in the role of Lilli Vanessi, will play Studio 54. The limited engagement will begin previews February 14 ahead of a March 14 opening, and is scheduled to play through June 2.

O'Hara will take on the leading role in the musical comedy from Cole Porter and Sam and Bella Spewack, reprising her performance from Roundabout’s 2016 benefit concert.

Scott Ellis, who helmed the concert presentation, will again direct, and Tony winner Warren Carlyle will return to choreograph. Paul Gemignani will serve as musical director.

Additional casting will be announced soon.

The newly assembled creative team will also include David Rockwell (sets), Jeff Mahshie (costumes), Donald Holder (lighting), Brian Ronan (sound), and David Brian Brown (hair and wig design).

In Kiss Me, Kate, two divorced and egocentric performers find themselves starring opposite each other in a musical version of Taming of the Shrew. The revival will premiere 20 years after the last Broadway production, which starred Marin Mazzie and Brian Stokes Mitchell.

O'Hara recently performed in Metropolitan Opera's Così fan tutte and will soon reprise her Tony-winning performance as Anna Leonowens in the West End engagement of The King and I. Her Broadway credits also include South Pacific, The Light in the Piazza, The Bridges of Madison County, Nice Work If You Can Get It, and The Pajama Game.
