The West End production of Motown the Musical will end its run at London’s Shaftesbury Theatre April 20, 2019, after over 1,330 performances. The musical, featuring music from the Motown catalog, opened in the U.K. in February 2016.

Motown, featuring a book by Berry Gordy and directed by Charles Randolph-Wright, explores the careers of Motown founder Gordy and those whose careers the record label helped launch, including Diana Ross, Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Smokey Robinson, and Marvin Gaye.

The musical first premiered on Broadway in April 2013. As previously announced, a U.K. tour will launch in January.
