A new theatrical adaptation of Babette’s Feast, based on the short story by Isak Dinesen that was later made into an Oscar-winning film, is set to debut Off-Broadway in an open-ended run at the Theatre at Saint Clement’s.

The play tells the story of a French refugee who finds asylum in a pious Norwegian village. There, she throws a lavish feast that transforms the town and its people.

The production will feature scenic and lighting design by Tony Award winner Christopher Akerlind (Indecent, Rocky, The Light in the Piazza, Seven Guitars), with costume design by Oana Botez, sound design by Kate Marvin, and original music by Gina Leishman.
