Lauren Worsham, the Tony-nominated co-star of Broadway’s A Gentleman’s Guide to Love & Murder, and Kyle Jarrow, librettist of the Broadway hit SpongeBob SquarePants, will return to the New York city concert stage February 9 with Candyland, a new concert with their indie-pop band Sky-Pony.
The husband and wife team said they will perform a “wild [board game] Candyland-themed concert” at 10 PM at Mercury Lounge in Manhattan, complete with “Ring Pops, costumes, projections...and a ball pit. Really. Plus new tunes.”
Worsham is also scheduled to appear in a February 13 concert version of Tonya & Nancy: The Rock Opera in New York City.
Sky-Pony also consists of David Blasher (cello), Eric Day (bass, horn/string arrangements), Kristin Piacentile (backing vocals), Perry Silver (drums), Sharone Sayegh (backing vocals), Jessi Suzuki (backing vocals), and Kevin Wunderlich (guitar). For this concert they will be accompanied by guest backup singers Michaela Bryce and Gizel Jimenez.
Tickets ($10) go on sale January 12 on the Mercury Lounge website. Mercury is located at 217 East Houston Street near Avenue A.
Sky-Pony is also scheduled to appear April 20–21 with Nimbus Dance Works at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in Brooklyn.
