The film, debuting June 7 in movie theatres, take a look at the life and artistry of the late operatic tenor Luciano Pavarotti.

Pavarotti, the new documentary about the illustrious opera star, released a sneak peek during the 2019 Grammy Awards February 2010. Watch the trailer above.

The movie will play in theatres across the U.S. beginning June 7. The film includes clips from his most famous performances and never-before-seen backstage footage, as well as interviews from the likes of U2’s Bono and Pavarotti’s wife Nicoletta.

Ron Howard directed the documentary as a follow-up to his Beatles project Eight Days a Week. It will be distributed by CBS Films.

Pavarotti is considered by many to be one of the best operatic singers to ever take the stage. His concert with the Three Tenors—joined by Plácido Domingo and José Carreras—solidified his celebrity status after a grand performance during the 1990 World Cup ceremony. Famous recordings throughout his career include such arias and art songs as “Nessun Dorma,” “'O Sole Mio,” and “Funiculì Funiculà.”

It's fitting the trailer aired during the Grammy Awards, as Pavarotti was honored with the Recording Academy's Legend Award in 1998, having previously won five Grammys.
