Shakespeare on Your Feet

At Primary Stages ESPA

Instructor: Owen Horsley (Director, Salomé, Royal Shakespeare Company)

Wednesdays from 6:20pm – 9:20pm

October 24November 28

This class might be for you if you:

---Have some facility with Shakespearean text, or have taken Shakespeare at the Table.

---Need a classical monologue in your repertoire, especially if you are preparing for grad school and summer stock auditions.

In this class you will:

---Learn to connect with classical texts vocally, physically, and emotionally, fully inhabiting the world of your character.

---Avoid the common pitfall of washing entire swathes of text with emotional tone by breaking down the text line by line.

---Unlock a dynamic arc with a wonderful diversity of human heart and mind.

By the end of this class you will:

---Have a polished classical monologue in your repertoire.

---Feel empowered to confidently audition for Shakespearean roles.
