Second Stage Theater seeks a Building Manager to assist the Operations Manager in operating two theaters and office spaces.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following:
o Ensure that the Tony Kiser Theater, McGinn-Cazale Theater, and Second Stage offices meet the needs of Second Stage Theater
o Supervise and maintain relationships with maintenance workers, contractors and vendors. Negotiate quotes/contracts to optimize time and cost savings.
o Supervise the custodial team, including scheduling.
o In collaboration with Operations Manager, supervise day to day activities of rentals in all spaces and rehearsal room
o Responsible for all security measures including distribution of keys, security cameras, door alarm codes, and staffing and supervision of all security personnel. Liaison with NYPD in the event of an emergency.
o General upkeep and maintenance of buildings to ensure institutional facility compliance with applicable federal, state and local laws, codes, health and safety standards and regulations.
o Coordinate with Theater Staff on requirements for each production, which include safety training, fire training and HVAC settings.
o Knowledge of FDNY and DOB regulations for public assembly spaces.
o Plan and manage any refurbishments, renovations, and moves to make sure they run smoothly and across all spaces.
Key Abilities and Qualifications:
o Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
o Critical thinking skills with creative and technical problem-solving ability
o Excellent spoken and written communication skills
o Working knowledge of theatrical production, HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems a plus.
o Knowledge of health, safety and environmental regulations a plus
o A self-starter ready willing and able to quickly and fastidiously resolve building issues
o Minimum 3 years experience in Facilities or Building Management
o Experience or background in a theatrical or educational setting
o Ability to lift 50 lbs
o Hold or be willing and able to obtain Certificate of Fitness for Fire Alarm maintenance, Citywide Standpipe and Sprinkler, Fire Drill conductor and F-03 Indoor Place of Assembly(fire guard).
o CPR certified
