TADA!’s Mission and History

Since 1984, TADA!’s mission is to provide young people from different backgrounds to be creative, learn and think differently through high quality musical theater productions and educational programs. TADA! is a unique Drama Desk award-winning nonprofit youth theater that produces original musicals for family audiences. TADA! actors (youth ages 8 -18) are part of the free, year-round, pre-professional training and a positive youth development program. TADA! also offers musical theater classes/camps for the public; as well as musical theater residencies in NYC schools and community centers. Through TADA!’s high-quality work, young people develop advanced skills and attributes in leadership, self-confidence, communication, responsibility, creativity, collaboration, and problem-solving – skills that help with growing up and are essential to their success both in school and in life.  


About the position
The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with applicable experience in theater and arts education marketing along with strong oral, writing, and computer skills. The Director of Marketing must take initiative and maintain a consistently positive, can-do attitude along with imagination, a strategic approach, and an entrepreneurial spirit. This position will oversee the work of graphic designers, Public Relations firm, interns, and volunteers. He/she will work closely with all TADA! staff.

This position provides marketing, advertising and press outreach for all of TADA!’s programs and special events. A key focus is to increase earned income for classes, camps and productions. The Director of Marketing is also responsible for articulating and monitoring the organization's brand; raising the institution's profile; and developing new audiences for classes, camps and productions.


  • 3+ years in theater/arts education related marketing experience in New York City.
  • A bachelor’s degree in arts administration, marketing, or communications or comparable skills

  • A sincere interest in marketing for youth and the arts
  • Knowledge of New York theater, youth arts and youth development programs
  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of current arts marketing and advertising disciplines
  • Thorough understanding of Google suite. Patron Manager and Salesforce (database) and Click&Pledge (registration software) preferred but not required
  • Proficient in social media: Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube
  • Design skills preferred: basic  Photoshop, InDesign, illustrator
  • Knowledge of Emma to create and send e-blasts
  • Experience in website and database maintenance and administration

Reports to the Producing Artistic Director/Executive Director
Full-time exempt position - Salary range:  high 40’s - 50K (medical and other benefits also provided)
