DESCRIPTION

Ridgewood Gilbert & Sullivan Opera Company is holding principal and chorus auditions for our upcoming beach party take on the Gilbert & Sullivan classic, The Island Mikado, from July 26 - August 2! Audition Dates:
Thursday, July 26 from 7-9pm (at 100 Dayton Street, Ridgewood, NJ)
Monday, July 30 from 7-9pm (at 354 Rock Road, Glen Rock, NJ)
Thursday, August 2 from 7-9pm (at 100 Dayton Street, Ridgewood, NJ) 

First Rehearsal Date:
Monday, August 27

Performance Dates:
November 2-18, 2018

Rehearsals will mostly be on a combination of Mondays and Thursdays from 7:30-10 pm in Glen Rock and Ridgewood (both down the street from train stations and bus stops for transportation to NYC). Our season includes 6 full performances and 4 preview concerts, and our full performance and concert schedule can be viewed on our website. Audition Requirements:

Singing:
Performers auditioning for principal roles should prepare at least 32 bars in the style of the show. If auditioning for a principal role, singing a selection from the show is suggested, though other English light opera is also acceptable. Those auditioning for the chorus should sing 32 bars of what they feel most comfortable performing (English preferred).

Acting:
All auditioning for principal roles will read sides from the production. Links to the sides can be viewed on our auditions page, although we will also supply side copies at the audition.
